Sprint is now T-Mobile

Following the successful merger of the two carriers, Sprint is now operating as T-Mobile and no longer selling plans or phones under the Sprint brand. If you’re looking for a Sprint phone, you’ll need to check out T-Mobile’s range of devices.

If you’re looking to buy a Sprint cell phone, you’re in luck, because Sprint has a wide range of phones available, all of which can be financed via the Sprint Flex 18-month lease plan or outright. Leasing your phone through Sprint allows you to trade it in for a new one every 18 months or buy it via one lump sum or 6 monthly payments. It’s important to be aware that your final financing agreement is contingent upon a credit check at checkout.

Sprint offers the following payment options for cell phones:

  • Sprint Flex 18-month lease plan
  • RRP (pay the full price up front)

Sprint’s Flex leasing plan allows you to upgrade your phone after 18 months

Prepaid Phones from Sprint

Just as prepaid service plans require you to pay for your service prior to receiving it, prepaid phone plans entail buying your phone outright at the RRP (recommended retail price), which can get very pricey if you’re looking to buy the latest models.

How to Buy a New Phone on Sprint

All of Sprint’s phones can be financed through their Sprint Flex 18-month leasing option. Further, there are some great phone deals that accompany certain phone leasing plans. For example, if you choose to lease the iPhone Xs Max, iPhone Xs, or iPhone XR, you get a free iPhone XR. No matter what phone you get through the Sprint Flex plan, there will be a $30 activation fee added to your first month’s bill. Note that with the Flex lease, if you decide to leave Sprint for another carrier, you’ll be required to pay the remaining balance on your device. It may not be in your best interest to choose this phone installment plan if you aren’t sure how long you’re going to stay with Sprint. After 18 monthly installments, you can own the phone by paying one lump sum or 6 monthly payments. Your other option is to pay for the phone outright, which may wind up being quite costly depending on the phone that you choose (the iPhone Xs Max costs $1,099.99). One way to negate this cost is to get a pre-owned phone. Sprint’s pre-owned devices undergo testing and inspection to ensure they’re in good working condition. They come with a 90-Day Limited Replacement Warranty, which guarantees a replacement for phones that experience electrical or mechanical failure.

If you decide to leave Sprint for another carrier, then you are required to pay the remaining balance on your phone

iPhone Forever Through Sprint

All Sprint phones are eligible for the Sprint Flex 18-month leasing plan, but only certain iPhones have the option of enrolling in the special upgrade program called iPhone Forever. Phones eligible for iPhone Forever include:

    • iPhone Xs Max

  • iPhone Xs

  • iPhone XR

The iPhone Forever upgrade program is a great option for anyone who prefers to have the newest iPhone

Sprint’s Galaxy Forever

Similar to the iPhone Forever program, Galaxy Forever is an upgrade program available for specific Samsung phones. You can return and upgrade to the latest Samsung after making the equivalent of 12 monthly payments. Phones eligible for Galaxy Forever include:

    • Samsung Galaxy S9

  • Samsung Galaxy S9+
