Cricket Wireless is a smaller carrier that is owned by AT&T and operates on their network.
Because they run on AT&T’s network, they have great coverage, but their plan selection is small, and so is their new phone selection with just over 25 phones to choose from. However, they do offer the most popular brands and many recent models. This guide will walk you through the Cricket Wireless phones available to help you get the perfect device.

there are new Cricket Wireless phones added to the lineup all the time—check back for updates!

Cricket Wireless iPhones

There are no iPhone shortages at Cricket Wireless including the five best iPhones: the iPhone XS Max, XS, XR, X, and 8 Plus. iPhones in the X series are very expensive due to their advanced software and slick hardware, to save money you can look at buying older iPhones like the iPhone 6s Plus or the iPhone 7.

Cricket Wireless Androids

At Cricket there are over a dozen Android phones to choose from made by Samsung, Motorola, LG, and Alcatel. When it comes to the most popular Android brand, you can buy the 2018 Galaxy S9 and Galaxy A6 directly from Cricket.

Cheap Cricket Wireless Phones

If you’re looking to buy a phone from Cricket on the cheaper end, they have several budget options to choose from like the LG Stylo 3 and the Moto E5 Play which are both under $200.

Let’s Talk Tip: If you’re looking for a deal, Cricket frequently has a sale or promotion if you switch and bring your number. We keep up to date on all Cricket Wireless deals so you can save time and money.

How to Buy Cricket Wireless Phones

To get your hands on a Cricket phone, you have a few options. You can buy one outright, lease one, or trade in your current phone for a newer device.

Progressive Leasing With Cricket Wireless

If you don’t want to buy your phone outright, you can lease it through the third-party company, Progressive Leasing. They will allow you to pay off your phone through monthly payments with no interest added which makes this a good option if you don’t have the cash to buy outright. With Progressive Leasing you do not own your phone until you’ve fully paid it off, and you’re also required to have Cricket service while you lease your device.

progressive leasing LogoTo qualify for Progressive Leasing services you need to do a few things:

  1. Apply online (not everyone will qualify)
  2. Pick out your phone (you can choose up to five phones and five accessories to lease)
  3. Your first phone must cost at least $149.99
  4. Pay first lease payment of $49.99 to Cricket (the rest of the payments will go to Progressive)
  5. There is a 90-day early buyout option, or you can pay off your phone(s)/accessories in 12 months.
  6. Payments will automatically be made on your paydays

Trade in Your Cricket Wireless Phone

If you’re a new Cricket customer you can trade in your current phone and receive credit for a new device and/or accessories (in-store only). Your phone just needs to have a working screen and can turn on to be eligible to trade in.

The credit you receive for your trade-in can only go towards a handset (or accessories) and can’t be used to pay your monthly service bill or any outstanding fees

If you’re a current Cricket customer, you can trade in your current phone and receive credit for a new device, BUT you also have to add a new line.

Upgrade Your Cricket Wireless Phone

If you’re already a Cricket customer, you have the added option to upgrade your current device. To be eligible for an upgrade you must meet a few requirements:

  • Have had your Cricket phone for at least 90 days
  • Be on a plan that costs $30 or more each month
  • Have to buy the new device NEW and from Cricket
  • Pay a $25 upgrade fee

Unlike trading in your device, you can upgrade in-store and online. You can also upgrade your phone every 90 days, although we recommend against that because it can be pretty expensive.
