Home Phones Coolpad

Coolpad

Founded in 1993, Coolpad is a large Chinese telecommunications equipment company based out of Shenzhen, China. Coolpad doesn’t quite have a strong name in the United States but it is very well known in other parts of the world.  A major reason why Coolpad isn’t very well known in the US is that their US brand Coolpad Americas (based out of Frisco, Texas) has not been around quite as long as its parent company has.

However, while Coolpad hasn’t quite made the mark on the US mobile market that Apple or Samsung have made, the phone maker has some historical significance in US mobility. In 2012, for instance, Coolpad provided Metro PCS (now Metro by T-Mobile) with its first 4G LTE device. Through the following years, Coolpad has launched phones on T-Mobile prepaid and postpaid plans as well as Cricket. Additionally, Coolpad has released unlocked phones on the open market.

Those not ready to spend the high prices linked with high-end flagship phones might want to consider a Coolpad smartphone. While specs might not match those of the latest iPhone or Galaxy, Coolpad phones are still more than enough phone for many users and with an emphasis on style and design, they aren’t bad to look at.
