Myself and two other family member's have this phone and I HATE it. Not only is the battery life HORRIBLE, the phone freezes periodically and Navigation only works about 1/2 the time because it's "searching for GPS signal". When Navigation does work, it continously loses GPS signal which as you can imagine is a problem if you are relying on the Navigation for directions. If two other members of my family weren't having the same problems, I'd assume there was something wrong with my phone, but I know that's not the case, since all three of us have the same problem. I don't even have very many apps on my phone and the battery life is a problem. I was recently with coworkers that have a new iphone and I had to charge my phone twice and theirs still didn't need to be charged and this was just during one workday. While I do like some aspects of this phone, the negative definitely outweigh the positive and now all three of us will have to deal with it until our 2 year contracts are over!

Great phone at a fabulous price! Battery life could be better but that's really a function of all the apps that you download. Screen is great and functions all work as advertised. May buy another to add onto my family plan which now consists of 3 of these phones and 1 of the new 3D version because of the price/value. LetsTalk.com is the place to go for great prices and service.

The phone is fine, the battery life is sub-par, and the Sprint network is not great. However they have the best phones on the market and the best plans for your money. The network service isn't great; too many dropped calls and always out of network. They need to merge with someone or improve thier network.

I bought 2 of these phones. They worked great at the beginning. However, now the touch screen is always freezing up. Can not answer calls, or back out of applications. Text messageing never works. Both phones receive messages hours or days later or not at all. When touch pad is working it is too sensitive and turns call volume down so incoming calls or texts can not be heard. I bought this phone becuase my Blackberry from Sprint always worked where I live. The Epic did and now does not. Has totally turned me off android phones. Plus you pay more for data and get nothing

I love my Samsung Epic phone, I just hate the battery. I did buy a extended battery, which lasts a little longer.

No spell check. No picture designing software installed. You have to crop before sharing pictures(if you want them to stay the same position you took em). Not a lot of options for the keyboard and backlight timer. In order to close apps, you have to go to task manager(which can be very annoying if you have a lot of apps open). You can not change your camera setting and have the flash on at the same time. Battery life sucks if you're an internet or music person(4hrs and I had the internet and email app open). No extended battery life(usually when phones say your battery is dead, it usually takes sometime before the radio cuts off. Oh, and don't even think about using it while its charging, cause it already takes long enough charging as it is.)You don't have control over how long it takes for your phone to lock (if you decide for it to lock). Picture quality is best when you're turning the camera towards you, rather than you using reversed picture taking option. Sometimes you have to press the screen a billion times before it responds(I think that's all touch screens though). Seems as if either your 4g works or you're screwed (really hate that, like what ever happened to 3g?). Setting up email, can be such a nuisance! Kinda stiff keyboard buttons. But overall, I really hate the time it takes to charge, the need for cropping your pics before sharing them, the non-picture designing friendly, the no spell check, the 4g issue(apps and internet keeps constantly needing to be forced close), the no control over the phone lock timing, and the screen and keyboard backlight stuff. Love the accuracy of the voice search! I just think the design is to die for(nothing sexier than metallic black; touch screen with buttons that don't even appear to be there, until touched! Love the access to such an abundance of apps(and free at that)! Somewhat like the task manager(only cause it allows you to see what apps are open, and close em all at once-but can also be very annoying if you're only closing certain apps).

The phone is easy to use, although it drops calls sometimes. It also has a very responsive screen, but the buttons below the screen are a little defective. The phone is big, and the major downfall is the battery. The battery has about half the life that a Blackberry does. Other than that this phone is GREAT! Letstalk makes the phone even better with the awesome deals!!!!

I think this is a great device. I just hate the maker. I will never buy another Samsung product. It is now March and this phone still isn't running android 2.2. There are 2 and 3 year old phones more up to date. This phone is plagued with all the same update problems as the Samsung Moment. Don't buy Samsung.

The Samsung Epic 4G is a great phone. It actually is more than a phone. It's everything. A small computer, camera, everything. But the battery dies fast. Be sure to always bring your charger with you and charge in your car and everywhere you go. I hope one day they can develop great batteries to go with this great phone.

I LOVE this phone. I am having some dropped calls but not sure if that is just the Sprint service. I haven't called about it yet. The phone itself is fantastic. The display is awesome, speed great, keyboard wonderful, interface good, stability awesome (no freeze ups). My only complaint is, like many others, that Samsung's default calendar is pretty lame; however, being an android phone there are plenty of apps and widgets to compensate for that. I thought I would be bothered by not having Android 2.2 after reading reviews of the phone, but honestly, I forgot that it's only 2.1-haven't noticed. The camera is unbelievably great. I still can't believe the great deal we got from Let's Talk on these phones! We got the 2 for 1 Black November deal. SOOOO worth it! My technologically challenged husband even likes this phone!

Very nice phone, eats battery but it's worth every penny. Call quality is nice only had 2-3 dropped calls within a month, which is nothing. I love the 4G network. The design is alright, but I wish it would be a bit smaller.

Purchased 2 of these. Phone is very nice. I love the Andriod platform and all the things it can do. However, if you are looking for a small phone, this is not it. It has no spell check. The swype predictive text is no substitute for real spell check. Battery life is horrible. I go through 3 batteries a day even while charging it overnight. My Blackberry had much better battery life. The antenna seems to be weak. I cannot get reception in places my Blackberry had coverage. Sprint coverage also seems to be spottier than Verizon or Cincinnati Bell Wireless. If I could get integrated spell check (not a separate program), better battery life, and better coverage, this phone will be perfect. When my contract is up, I will not be renewing with Sprint.

Let's Talk is great to purchase from. I love the phone, it works great. The call quality is as good as any other cell I have ever used. It's extremely fast and the screen is beautiful. The only problems I have found are the battery life (I use the phone a lot and need to recharge once during the day and at night), the fact that the phone is still running android 2.1 (sprint has been saying the update is on the way for a while now), the internal memory is only 1gb compared to the other galaxy s phones with 16gb (although there is the sd card, android 2.1 doesn't allow the use of apps to be placed on the card and used from there. I think the Epic is still the best of the galaxy s phones and the keyboard is a big part of that). And the last bad thing is Sprint itself. I love the phone despite the few drawbacks, there will be an update to 2.2 which will allow apps to be used from the sd card plus it will make the phone much better in other ways also, but you still have Sprint. Just so everyone understands, they have some not so great billing ideas. Your first bill is double billed, or at least mine was. You have to pay $10.00 a month for 4g, even though it's not in your area and you won't be able to use it and finally they charge you $5.00 a month to have them bill you (that is a mailed paper bill). This is inexcusable, some of us like to look over our bills and not have to do it on the small screen of our phone or get on the computer to look over it. I also keep them for records and don't want my email box loaded with with. To let anyone looking into the epic 4g know, my first bill was a little over $200.00. I have never had this happen with any other company I've used, and I have used a few. I knew the first bill would be a little higher than the rest but not like that. I am new and maybe they will stop charging for unusable services ,4g , and paper billing if enough people say something. The customer service of Sprint is very nice though but I have only called a couple times. To reiterate, Let's Talk is where I got my Epic 4g and set up service, they are great, I would happily use them again. The phone rocks and will just get better as soon as Sprint gets out the 2.2 upgrade. Sprint leaves a bit to be desired so far for me but maybe they will grow on me or get better. Hope this review helps.

This is a great phone trumps the moment by a wide margin. It's much easier to use and the buttons are in a much better location on the Epic. Battery life could be better, but its better then the Samsung Moment.

Over all this phone is amazing. The battery life is a major downfall. and the buttons below the screen do not work properly, sometimes multiple touches are required. All share doesn't allow you to download files from other computers on this phone where as with the fascinate you can.

I love this phone, and the fact that I got it for such a great deal with LetsTalk.com makes it so much greater. This phone can do everything I want/need, and more. Its so powerful, yet still simple to use. I'm a very techy type of person, and I love having a phone that can show that side of me. The only thing I have to complain about with this phone would be the battery, but then that's really more something I bring to your attention, because I know how much of a heavy user I am, so its probably all my fault anyway. I 1000% love this phone. Thank you LetsTalk.com!

There is an upload speed problem with this phone. the large majority of users report that they cannot sustain upload speeds of more than 150 kbps, approximately 1/3 of the rated speed for this phone.
Also, the capacitive buttons below the screen are often defective, requiring multiple touches to use. Sometimes the buttons will freeze the phone as well.

Finally, a really smart phone with a slide-out keyboard! This phone does everything my old phone does, except it does it well! Battery technology is not keeping up with the phone applications, and battery life is always an issue with multi-function phones, but it's as good as any other device of this type.
