This phone is horrible, I have the 1st one and I hate it. The battery is always dead, and it buttdials nonstop. After the first year the keyboard starts to go out. Don't be fooled that the special hard case from verizon will help.... It scratches it nonstop. My recomendation: DO NOT BUY IT.

Decent phone, but has some problems. On top of a low battery life, weird color schemes and bad screen, every time you drop it, the back cover falls off and the battery comes out. Very annoying. Other than that, though, it has an easy-to-learn keyboard, and it has a great usability factor. Some automated features could be improved, but overall, this is a pretty good first-time phone.

Worst phone I ever had. It constantly 'butt dials' when in a case even though auto-lock is engaged. Battery life is dismal because I use a blu-tooth headset.
Would never recommend this phone.
When upgrades are available on our plan, will be switching to an iPhone 4 or 5.

Okay, so I have had this phone for just over 4 months. I never dropped it extremely hard and have not damaged it in any way. When trying to open a text, it froze completely. I took the battery out and couldnt get it to power on. I had to turn it on by using the charger without the battery. Turns out the top half of the phone doesnt work AT ALL anymore. This means no calls or alarms and once my inbox filled up, I could not delete my messages without the top half, so no texting either. I have never had to replace a phone due to damage in my life and this happened in a matter of 4 months. Truly disappointed.

The charge time is horrible but the battery life is pretty nice besides that it seems like if I dont charge the phone over night the charge won't even last 8 hours of regular use and it seems like whenever I use another charger that's not the specific charger, the charge is horrible.

Screen broke 3 months after I got it. After a couple days it decides to work again but only when it's in the slide-in position. Otherwise, the screen fades out and dies completely both ways until it wants to work again. Knowing that, I just used it slide-in for the past several months. But then it broke again recently. Terrible phone.

This phone is the worst piece of technology I have ever dealt with. I thought maybe the first one was just a random flaw, but I had it replaced and ONE month later the new one did the exact same thing. It turns off randomly, ALL of the buttons will randomly stop working except the end button? Terrible phone, I will never buy another and I don't think anyone should if they are expecting normal usage. I consider sending a text lucky.

Overall, I have been pleased with this phone. I love the slide out keyboard! As of yesterday this is no longer my favorite phone. It had been having random charging issues as well as shutting off for no reason for the last 6 months. It suddenly decided to turn off and wouldn't turn back on. The warranty company sent me a refurbished replacement because they no longer make my phone and it went downhill from there. The replacement phone again, the LG Cosmos has become a haunted phone, randomly shutting off and on for no reason and will not stop. I finally had to take the battery out. Right now I am grateful they no longer make this phone; it appears to need a lot of work.

The phone is ok. It's not the best phone. Verizon website describes it better than it actually is. It's boring the Internet is hard to see and not easy to use. The battery life is legit HORRIBLE it's in the charger more than it's out. If you like to text don't get this phone. The battery goes down one bar within 5 or 6 text messages. The only way you can get a good battery is if you turn the brightness all the way down. It's very easy to text on though that's the only good part. Oh, and it freezes alot! I can't wait till my next upgrade! Because I will never go back to this phone!

I have had this phone for a year and I am not that impressed with it. There is no flash, you get almost no storage space, you can't take videos with it, and it freezes a lot. The battery life isn't great, and it reboots sometimes. The most annoying thing is that a lot of times I don't recieve text messages, and sometimes my phone doesn't ring when there is a call and all I get is a notification that I missed a call when it didn't even ring. This phone is okay.

by Becky -- August 27th 2011 -- Victorville, CA
Overall its a great phone. Only turns off once in a blue moon only has to be charged every two days. There aren't many cool features but it is basic and useable. Texting is so easy; you push the down button to open a new message and it's really easy to type on the keyboard and T9, which I don't prefer, but if your walking around with another thing in your hand it's not too bad. The quality of sound is pretty good if you have signal and I love the camera. Actually it's easy to position and you can simply press the camera button on the side to TAKE the picture instead of some of those weird ones that make you push the OK button and makes it awkward to take. But yeah, I give this phone 4/5 stars and I'm upgrading to an LG Cosmos Touch soon after having this phone for almost 2 years. :) I would reccomend this phone for anyone that doesn't like the complications of smartphones. :P

This phone isn't great; it has scuff marks on the keys where i have slid the keyboard so I cant see the letters, the phone freezes the screen if it gets too low, it has very little space to hold pics and ringtones, the battery is horrible and cant hold a charge for 30 mins; I haven't even had mine for a year and it constantly has to be plugged into the charger.

I like the phone, but have had issues with the battery since purchase. The battery will not hold a charge. My Verizon wireless store had to replace it with a battery from another new phone because there were no batteries available except in the north east. I still have the issue with the new battery. I have had the battery totally deplete from 3 bars to none with no calls or texts. This makes my phone unreliable.

by Renee -- June 9th 2011 -- Waynesville, NC
The call quality on this phone is fantastic! I love the way everything is laid out. However, I have to charge my battery every 16 hours. When I charge the battery to full, it will drop to 3 bars within minutes sometimes. The battery meter will go up and down randomly, so I never really have a good idea of how much battery life I have left. The phone does not give me access to all of the space on my MicroSD card (8G), which I use for ringtones and pictures--after using only 1G, it states that my card memory is full! The phone likes to reboot at random moments, sometimes when I am not even touching or using it. It is really frustrating when I am trying to communicate with someone and it suddenly reboots. The "a" key on my keyboard works when it feels like it--sometimes, it won't work at all, and other times, it will put 3 or 4 a's when I push the button once. Texting is very slow, and it takes a while for it to catch up. Loading time between screens is almost like using dial-up internet, and if you are scrolling through a long text conversation, sometimes the messages will start mushing together and turning into a huge mess. Sometimes, the conversation won't even be stored in chronological order, so if you want to follow your conversation, good luck.

Surprised to see all the negative reviews; I had a HTC Droid Incredible and talk about horrible battery life! On top of paying $30 a month to the lovely folks at Verizon the Droid could not hold a charge to save it's life. So I called Verizon and bought a certified pre-used LG Cosmos for $109. Bye bye $30 data plan and lifeless Droid. Now the LG is not as glam as a Smartphone (no voice activated GPS and what is up with no flash for the camera??). However the pixel quality is great, call quality is great, easy to use AND keeps the battery charge without any problems. I am very satisfied with this phone.

This phone is terrible. It is so slow that I can finish typing a text message by the time the text message screen shows up. It shows that I have unread text messages on texts that I have sent. The end key stopped working so now I have no way to turn the phone on. The memory sucks on it and so does the battery.

This phone is awful. I had an intensity (which I loved) and got this junk when I broke it from the insurance company. The thing is so slow one you get a bunch of memory on it. If your thinking about recording something, you might as well forget it! The sound quality for it is awful. It turns off and on all the time, and when I send a picture message sometimes it won't let me use my phone for like a day (which it is doing right now). It is just shutting on and off again and won't let me receive or send messages or do anything. Every time I get a phone from Verizon it gets crappier and crappier! I refuse to pay extra for a good phone when I never have used a internet feature on one.

This phone sucks. I`m on my second one, and it isn`t much better. The battery life is TERRIBLE. It has a full charge in the morning, and by 3:00, it only has one bar, and I don`t even use it much throughout that time. It does, however, have a good durability. I drop it, throw it, or anything, and there isn`t even a scratch. If you have over about 100 texts, it takes forever for the screen to change, and sometimes, it shuts off on me. You can call very well almost everywhere, but it really drains the battery. I`d recommend using it only if you don`t like texting or its for emergencies only.

My phone is about 6 months old and the best thing I can say about it is this...You can really text fast on these. Down side however is the following: the screen transition time increases drastically as you accumulate more texts in your inbox. It gets to the point where you have to delete your inbox if you want to accomplish anything. Also very recently it has been shutting off after I send texts. It powers back on by itself, but it is enough to make you mad.

This phone is a good phone, but i have been having problems with it lately. During phone calls, it cuts out and sounds like you are getting disconnected. Also the phone runs very slow when you are trying to text someone and you have over 90 texts in the inbox. It takes the phone a long time to move from screen to screen. That is my biggest problem. It's a hassle when you try to send a quick text and you have to wait for 3 minutes just to get to the screen. But other then that, I think this is a ok phone.

When I first got this phone, I loved it. The only problem that I really have with it is that whenever I am sending a text message, and somebody sends me one, it freezes and goes to the text message and my phone goes crazy. It showed no real problem before, but it has gotten worse and it is not just texting, it's throughout any activity I try to load on this phone. Though, it is very easy to use and get used to, it can get annoying. The design of the phone is great and durable. I've dropped it about 3 times and no damage has shown. The call quality is great depending on what kind of signal you have. Though, the ringtones are VERY loud no matter what sound level you have, it is a good way to let you know you have a call. The battery life isn't great if you text all the time. If you don't text, my phone lasted a week on a full charge. If you text a lot, the best you can get is a day. I like this phone, I just wish it worked a little better, but it is pretty good for a free phone.

I got this phone because I switched from Sprint to Verizon; I had an LG Rumor 2 that I liked very much, so naturally, I went for Verizon's version of it. The Cosmos is cheap compared to the Rumor 2 in terms of looks, design, software, and just general ease of use, but hey, the phone was free and I'll be damned if they'll make me pay an extra 30 bucks a month for internet just because I want a smart phone. I was never actually pleased with the Cosmos but it's just a phone, right? However I started having real problems after about four months. Out of no where it started turning on and off randomly and anytime I received a media message. It would spend at least 20 minutes turning on and off every ten 10 seconds which made doing anything impossible. Just when that issue miraculously somewhat subsided, now my phone freezes in between every task, everything is slowed down, half the options don't work or when they do they take -I'm not exaggerating- almost five minutes to load, it won't read my external memory chips, it decides when it wants to answer calls, I get quadruplicates of every single message someone sends me, it freezes during phone calls and restarts, the battery life (which wasn't great to begin with) is down to like five hours of charge which is pitiful. The freezing and the sluggish responds are driving me absolutely crazy, I spend half my day taking the battery out of my phone to restart it because the screens completely frozen. This phone is about as helpful as carrying around a rock with a drawn on keypad.

We got these phone's last week, we are on our 2nd phone each. The first set my hubby's started cycling the black white Verizon screen the first night. Mine started the next day. We took them back got another set. Our big mistake, we shut them off. It took over 13 hours for them to turn back on. Called LG's support, they never heard of such a thing. Now come one, just google these phones. They need to recall them. Verizon is going to exchange them once again but not for the same LG brand. I will never get another LG phone, and they are not making me pay the 35 dollar restocking fee.

Keyboard is nice to use. However, that doesn't matter if when you send the originating text to your family member on the same verizon account, they don't receive the text. If they send me a text, I reply and they get the text. Wanted to give the phone back and get a credit, to late over 30 days. You will have to pay a penalty. Oh well, if you are smart you will NOT buy this phone. If you are really smart you wont deal with verizon. bill pauley, concerned consumer.

I can't use this phone because it gets stuck in start up mode. It goes back and forth from white verizon start up screen to black verizon start up screen and never comes out of it. I am on my third cosmos in less than one week with this same problem and will now have to change to another phone. They all worked for between one and three days initially and then developed this problem. I fully charged the battery and it didn't matter. I highly recommend NOT buying this phone. Customer service at the store seems to have no interest in addressing the cause of the problem.

I loved this phone until 2 wks after I bought it, it started cycling on and off non-stop. I took it back to Verizon, they replaced it with a new one and today (2 wks after the replacement) it started cycling on and off again. I went BACK to Verizon and refused to take another Cosmos. They replaced it with a Samsung Intensity II. Not only did I have to deal with the aggravation of having a phone that wouldn't turn on, but this is also the primary means my sons and their schools have for contacting me during the day. One of my sons has high functioning autism and having the phone go down was a real issue! In addition to that, I'm out the money I paid 3 times for different apps because of LG's malfunction issues. I contacted LG today and they refused to address the fact that due to their product's problems, I'm now out nearly $40!! NEVER again will I purchase anything by LG. They DO NOT stand behind their products!

The call quality has this weird tinny echo that hurts my ears unless I turn it way down. The battery life is not good at all - I have to charge at least every 16 hours even with very little use. The phone goes "to sleep" which is very annoying, because it takes a good minute to "wake up" again. I have taken it back twice and still have the same issues. I cannot recommend this phone.

Two days after I bought this phone, the screen got a huge scratch on it from touching a credit card in my hand bag. I used to keep my old phone in the same location and it is scratch free. I called Verizon to ask about returning it and they said I would have to pay a restocking fee ($35, two days after buying this phone). I called LG to tell them the screen is easily scratched and they said that is not covered by the warranty, and I would have to send the phone into their technicians in Texas and probably pay $40 to $100 to have it repaired. Meanwhile I would not have a phone for a couple weeks while it's being repaired. You would think the engineers would use a screen material that is not easily scratched by credit cards, because I'm sure I'm not the only person who stores my cell phone in a purse with credit cards.
I'm very disappointed in the quality of this phone as well as customer service in the phone industry.

The Cosmo is the worst phone I have ever owned. I've owned LG brand phones in the past and have loved them. Not sure what happened with this one. The first thing that will annoy you is the fact that it buries multiple text. Most phones will say "2 New Text", for example. This phone will say there is a new text and who its from, but it only displays the most recent text. This is bad not only because you may miss a text completely from someone else but you receive the text out of chronological order. The only way to know if you missed a text is by the small icon on the main screen. Click it, then search away. If this doesn't convince you, wait until you have to deal with this phones lag. You can type a whole sentence before it catches up to you. Its like running a really old computer. I have counted to 3 slowly after I pushed the button to see a text before it came up. Think your phone is ringing too loudly? Well with this phone you can't turn it down while it's ringing. You have to exit to the main screen for the volume control to work. Any other screen and it will increase or decrease font size. The list goes on. I call this phone "terror in the pocket". Awful,Awful, awful phone.

When it does this it goes on for anywhere from twenty minutes to an hour and shuts down at least 40 times. It also freezes and slows down frequently. I love the style of the phone and the organization it just has a really bad battery and overall quality.

The LG Cosmo has a sleek and sassy design, but this phone has the worst battery life of any phone I have encountered. My husband & I bought two new LG Cosmos on May 3 2010. Both started having trouble with phone going through a shut down cycle on it's own. Took both phones back, Verizon said they needed to update the phones so they did that. My husbands got a little better mine got worse, I took mine back they give me a new phone. It has started doing it again, & my husbands still does it every so often. Going to take both phones back. If it wasn't for that problem these phones are great we love them, easy to use.
