I'm always fishing, and it rains a lot. I don't have to worry about getting this phone wet. This phone does everything the way it should. Excellent phone.

I received this product as a company phone, replacing a Samsung flip phone equivalent. There are several things I really dislike: 1) Battery life and Battery State of Charge calculation algorithm. Some times after a full charge the battery will last 2 weeks without needing a charge. Other times, it won't last the day. My usage is always heavy, so that does not play into the difference. 2) Features stink compared to the Samsung. Does not allow me to set it to auto-mute when speaker phone is on and flip is closed. Doesn't auto change from vibrate mode to audible ring when plugged into a power supply. This is a real pain if you want to charge in your vehicle... you can't hear/feel the vibrate mode, so you miss calls. I just ordered a replacement and had the option of a Droid2, DroidX or Iphone4 and guess what, I didn't choose the Motorola. I really want to see Motorola succeed, but they're going to have to pick up their game.

I've had the phone for over 7 months, it's lived up in many ways. It's rugged, gets good signal when other phones have no signal, and with my normal use (100-150 texts/mo, 250-300 min/mo), it carries a charge for on average 8-10 days. It's not a very text-friendly phone, and occasionally, will not hold a charge longer than 1-2 days. I found a solution in a forum thread here, and seems to work great: http://community.vzw.com/t5/Cell-Phone-General-Devices/MOTOROLA-BARRAGE-V860-BATTERY-ISSUE/m-p/284948

The phone is fine. I appreciate its durability. The battery seems to have a short life and needs recharging more often than I'd like.

The Motorola Barrage V860 is a good basic phone, which is what I wanted. Works great battery needs charging a lot.

This is my second cell phone; I wanted something that could stand up to rain/sweat/sea water.
I've had the phone a week, and no problems thus far. It ran for five days on the initial charge, before dropping a bar. I've turned off 3G/EVDO (you can find the step by step online), as I have no interest in websurfing or email, I'm running straight 1G service. I also have PTT disabled, and turn off Bluetooth support (I assigned this function to the PTT button) if I don't anticipate using it. These three options seem to be the key to longer charge intervals, on this phone, based on my research of owner comments in various cell forums.

Love it! Had been eyeing it for months and finally took the plunge. Wish I had done it way sooner. It's the best phone I've ever owned.

A good simple phone. Does what a phone suppose to do. Battery life is short. Call quality is not best, I know its not Verizon's fault because they have minimal reception in NYC.

Decent phone but overall seems bulky. Battery life is terrible, Will not last a day without charging, better keep a charger with you at all time.
