HTC G1 Cell Phone Reviews

The rating scale of 1 to 5 is not very helpful here. I absolutely love the phone. I'm a techie, Android developer, UNIX admin, and nerd. The ease of use for me is trivially easy, but for the next guy it might not be so easy. This phone is definitely not for grandma. No problems with call quality. The design is cool and I really don't mind the bend at the bottom of the G1 but I know others hate it. The battery life sucks when compared to my Blackberry Pearl. If I forget to charge it, it will be completely dead by noon the next day. Out of the box, a charge would last 4 to 6 hours. I figured out what to turn off to optimize battery life. Compared to my old Blackberry 8830, I have the exact same battery life. I'm used to having to charge the phone up every night or suffer the consequences the next day. The really nice thing about it is that it's infinitely more capable than the Blackberry devices and charges in 1/4 the time.

Awesome phone. I use it for everything with Google. I probably use it too much. With everything turned on and in use, the battery life is about 6 hours. Turning some options off, the life is about 12 hours. I use it more like a computer than a phone.
