LETSTALK POLL ASKS AMERICANS: WHERE DO YOU INTEND TO BUY YOUR NEXT CELL PHONE?
Online Retailing Shows the Greatest Growth
San Francisco, CA (March 18, 2002)
In a study commissioned by LetsTalk.com, Wirthlin Worldwide polled a random sampling of Americans to find out where they intend to buy their next wireless phone.
The LetsTalk survey was conducted between March 1 and March 4, 2002 and interviewed a representative sample of 1,004 Americans age 18 or older. Each respondent was asked, "Where would you prefer to buy your next cell phone?"
The respondents gave the following results:
"Just 2 years ago, analysts reported that online sales for wireless devices accounted for just 1% of all activations. LetsTalk's poll indicates that number could swell to 7%, validating analysts' opinions that the online channel will continue to experience tremendous growth," said Delly Tamer, CEO and president of LetsTalk.com.
