Today, Sprint unveiled the Motorola PHOTON 4G. This is the first 4G cell phone by Motorola for use with the Sprint 4G network. Thats not all thats interesting about this world phone. It also sports a dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor with a 4.3-inch qHD display (so graphics and videos will be vibrant and crisp), runs the Android 2.3 OS, and even has a kickstand for hands-free viewing of videos and more. You can share the phones 3G or 4G connectivity with up to eight WiFi-enabled devices via the Mobile HotSpot feature. It sports an 8-megapixel camera with flash on the back and a front facing VGA camera for video chat. The cell phone will come with 16GB of onboard memory and if thats not enough you can add a 32GB microSD card. While you can download apps from the Android market you can also customize the phone in an instant with a Sprint ID pack.
Additionally, the smartphone also sports the Motorola webtop application so you can connect the phone to a Motorola accessory dock (sold separately) and use it to open, view, edit and send Microsoft Office documents using cloud-based web apps through the full Mozilla Firefox browser. If this feature sounds familiar it should. We first saw it on the Motorola ATRIX 4G at CES, but theres no word on whether the PHOTON 4G will work with the same Laptop Dock. Either way, the webtop app is a nice feature to have because it extends how you can use the cell phone.
