It's been a busy week for Verizon, the company just announced its next model in the DROID family, the DROID X2 by Motorola. The new Android 2.2 phone (it will be updated to Android 2.3) is the successor to the DROID X by Motorola. The new model has a similar form factor boasting an anti-reflective qHD 4.3-inch display that uses scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass and also sports a HDMI-out port. Speaking of HDMI, one of the more interesting features found on the DROID X2 is the full Mirror Mode. Essentially this lets you connect the cell phone to a HDTV via HDMI and view the cell phone's entire display on the TV. That's pretty nifty especially when you think of how it might be used. For example, you capture an HD video with the phone's 8-megapixel camera of your child's baseball game. You can then hook up the phone to a HDTV at home and show the video to friends and family on the TV. No more passing the phone around to replay the video. We should also mention the shutter speed on the new DROID X2 will be faster making it easier to capture action shots.
There are other fun features as well including a MP3 player and FM radio (you'll need to use headphones to access this feature), a new Gallery app to easily view, tag and post photos on sites like Flickr and Facebook, and support for Adobe Flash 10.1 that will deliver a more fluid web experience. The cell phone will also sport a speedy and battery efficient dual-core 1GHz processor and 8GB of onboard memory, plus will come with an included 8GB microSD card. Although the DROID X2 isn't a 4G LTE phone, it does sport the Mobile HotSpot feature so you can share the 3G data connection with up to five WiFi-enabled devices.
What do you think? Does the DROID X2 have all the features you want? Let us know by leaving a comment below.
