Owners of the Motorola Xoom with Verizon service will be among the first to receive the update to Android 3.1. over-the-air starting later this week. Here are some features the update will include:
- Full support for Adobe Flash Player 10.2, which is needed to experience more multimedia on the web
- Users will also be able to rent movies from the Android Market
- Support for USB-connected devices such as game controllers and keyboards that can ultimately add more functionality to the XOOM
- Additional Bluetooth features to support Bluetooth headsets in Google Talk video chats among other enhancements
When the update notification arrives, we recommend plugging the
Motorola XOOM into the wall while downloading and installing the update. Additionally, it will also be faster if you receive the download via WiFi. The Android 3.1 update will be rolling out to all non-
Verizon XOOM tablets over the next several weeks.
