Verizon cell phones that don't require a data plan

Looking for a new Verizon cell phone, but aren't really interested in getting one that requires a data plan? We can help. We've compiled a list of all Verizon cell phones currently available that don't require a data plan.

If you want a phone that can make calls, take pictures, play music, and send texts check out the models listed below. If you want to send texts, you'll need to include that option when you select a plan. Verizon offers messaging in many of the company's Talk and Text plans. You'll find many of these phones are good starter models for tweens and teens. In particular, the LG Cosmos Touch is a touchscreen phone that has lots of functionality and expandable memory. This makes it an ideal choice for people who want to do more with a cell phone, but aren't quite ready for a smartphone.

Yes I would like a list for touchscreens

Sheila Kibler - 05/19/11

Yes!!!! It is getting harder and harder to find the "updated" phones with no data plan. As I am paying for a family plan, I cannot afford data plans for everyone. Just a nice basic touch screen with a keyboard for texting would be wonderful!!!!

Love my LG Voyager VX10000 CELL PHONE VERIZON. Everything you need including touchscreen without the data plan!

Can't afford the data plan, but don't want to sacrifice not having updated features and a good quality phone. What do you suggest?

I would love to have a touch screen, text messaging, bluetooth enabled, speakerphone, and no data plan. My prayers would be answered.

A list for touchscreens would be great. I am most interested in a phone as close to a smartphone as possible. As a previous iPhone user, I have been spoiled and can not tolerate the lack of basic features in many of these phones. I'm looking for a phone that has: 1. QWERTY Keyboard 2. Advanced Calendar Function, to allow alerts, event entry and syncing to either Outlook or Google Calendar 3. Threaded texting, similar to an iphone, so as to avoid each text being listed individually. 4. Unlimited text inbox would be nice 5. touchscreen would be cool also, though not required.

Touch screen phones that don't require one that I know of are: Dare, Voyager, Cosmo Touch, Versa, and the Rival which is only partially touch.

If you wouldnt mind the 9.99 data plan the samsung rouge and samsung reality. the samsung reality was by far the best non smartphone i have had. the env touch or samsung glyde wouldnt be a bad choice either.

Don't forget the KinONE and KinTWO which no longer require a data plan, but still have wifi capabilities. :) I just downgraded from an Iphone 4 to the Octane. It receives some of the highest reviews for an updated talk and text only phone, but I do miss both the touch texting and high quality camera/video on my iphone. I still have 10 days left on my 14 day trial period with the Octane and am seriously considering switching to a KinONE or KinTWO. The QWERTY keyboard is much larger (though still not touch) and the cameras are great. The reviews on the other touch screen non-data phones are pretty rough. Be careful! :)

No touchscreen without a data plan, THEN IM NOT GETTING A NEW PHONE. Keep your free, day before yesterdays technology phone, I did not just fall off the turnip truck. One more ditty, Who ever gives the first touch phone without data plan required, im going to switch.

Leslie - 03/24/12

I strongly recommend the kinTWO it is an excellent phone and one of my favorites that I have had. I currently have the Versa and I really enjoy having it but sometimes the screen stops working which is fixed after removing the battery and putting it back in.

ENV touch has a flip open keyboard and touch screen on the outside

hippo - 05/28/12

why cant there be a htc touch screen where you can choose if you want the data or not?

I see many of you say you can't afford data plans via verizon, I couldn't either. I did the unthinkable and went to sprint. I will say, verizon of course great, but I am not mad with sprint. All phones have unlimited mobile to mobile, unlimited internet, unlimited text, nights weekend start at 6 pm, insurance, and I get a 25% monthly discount. 2 phones...I was paying almost $200 with vzw, I pay with sprint around 120 a month. 4G is so-so but they are converting over to LTE this year. My pockets feel a lot heavier now and I haven't had any issues with customer service nor tech support. It's been almost a year now. Something to think about when your contracts are up.

Charlie - 06/04/12

I use my verizon cell phone very little. usually about 100 minutes a month. Anyway I only want a phone that I can talk on not texting or taking pictures or anything else, Just talking.

The Samsung Alias II does NOT require a data package any more

Tracy - 09/01/12
