Two Samsung Galaxy phones get the Froyo 2.2 update

Earlier this week, Samsung Epic 4G users were scheduled to start to receive the over-the-air update for the Android 2.2 Froyo OS. In addition to the update, here are some other enhancements included:

  • Ability to install applications to external storage
  • Improved Bluetooth device support
  • Bluetooth Voice Dialing
  • Flash Player 10.1
  • GPS Enhancements Improved OS performance

Now, AT&T Samsung Captivate users should be able to update their cell phone to the Android 2.2 Froyo OS. Unfortunately, this doesn't look like an over-the-air update, which is bad news for Mac users. You can find out more about how to get the upgrade by clicking this link.

Also remember when doing any kind of update you should back up the data on your cell phone and leave it plugged in while the update is occuring.
