Motorola XOOM coming to Verizon Wireless this week

There's been much speculation about availability and pricing of the Motorola XOOM tablet announced at CES. Today, the facts are in - Verizon Wireless will be offering the XOOM this week, on February 24th, for $599.99 with a new two-year contract or $799.99 without one.

The Motorola XOOM has a 10.1-inch HD display and 1GHz dual-core processor, runs Android 3.0 Honeycomb OS, supports 1080p HD video, sports a front-facing 2-megapixel camera for video chats and a 5-megapixel camera on the back to capture video in 720P HD. The 3G data service will start at $20 a month for 1GB of data. You can get an idea of 1GB of data offers in this blog post. The good news is that next quarter you'll be able to upgrade the tablet to work with Verizon's 4G LTE service at no additional charge.
