At CES, Motorola and AT&T announced the ATRIX 4G smartphone. What was most interesting about this particular Google Android 2.2 cell phone wasn't its dual-core processor (though, that is exciting from a performance and usability standpoint). It was actually one of the accessories that would be available - the laptop dock, which lets you extend the cell phone experience to a larger platform.
The Motorola ATRIX 4G sports 16GB of internal memory and will accept up to a 32GB microSD card, a 5-megapixel camera on the back of the cell phone and a front facing VGA camera for video chat, a microHDMI-out port that is best utilized with the Motorola HD MultiMedia dock. WiFi, and a 4-inch qHD display that supports 24-bit color graphics. The ATRIX 4G is expected to be available before March 6. If you really want the Laptop Dock you'll probably want to get it bundled with the phone. Although, the cell phone does have WiFi, you'll also need a DataPro plan.
