Sprint's Samsung Moment and HTC Hero have finally gotten the Google Android 2.1 update. However, there's a catch. The upgrade isn't coming over-the-air. Users will need to visit the Sprint download site to get the upgrade and then attach the smartphone to a computer to install the updates.
In addition to upgrading the operating system (OS) to 2.1, the Samsung Moment update also includes Bluetooth fixes, keypad backlight optimization, new camera features, Pandora enhancements, swipe use for Unlock/Mute/Speakerphone, and increased speed and performance. The HTC Hero has two updates available one that includes the Android 2.1 OS and a HTC Sync upgrade. Before you download the Android 2.1 update make sure you have HTC Sync software first. So you'll probably want to download the HTC Sync upgrade first. In addition to the Android 2.1 OS update, HTC Hero users can expect enhancements to the HTC Sense UI, bug fixes, and enhanced corporate e-mail support. While the HTC Sync upgrade includes Outlook 2000 support. Click this link to get the HTC Hero updates.
