If you liked the myTouch 3G, but wanted a slide-out QWERTY keyboard consider the HTC myTouch 3G slide coming to T-Mobile in June. The new Google Android smartphone includes quite a few noteworthy updates. For starters, it will run Android OS 2.1, and support a five-pane home screen with the option to increase to seven panes. It will also sport a 3.4-inch HVGA touchscreen display, 5-megapixel camera, pre-installed 8GB microSD card, and the ability to quickly upload videos taken with the HTC smartphone to YouTube or pictures to Picasa. Also of note are these two new features:
Faves Gallery: This is a widget that allows you to choose 20 of your favorite people and the different ways to communicate with them calls, texts, e-mail, instant messaging, social networking updates. Anytime they communicate with you or update their social network you get a notification in the notification pane and if you're not using the cell phone, a custom green light alerts you there's an update. You can access the new feature through a soft button and an easy-to-use widget complete with photos, contact info and one-touch ability to respond.
Genius Button: Press one button on the front of the myTouch 3G Slide, talk, and it delivers. You can use it to make calls, compose and send texts and e-mails, search the Web or your surroundings. It will even read text messages aloud, and then you can dictate responses naturally as if you were speaking directly to a person.
