Motorola unveiled the i1 Android cell phone at an event featuring Mike Rowe of Dirty Jobs on the Discovery Channel. The idea being that this wasn't just another Android cell phone, nor was it just another iDEN cell phone. Nope, this is a rugged smartphone built to military spec and built to take beating. The company teamed up with Mike Rowe who says, "I've destroyed every phone I've ever had on the job." So can he destroy the Motorola i1? Well, only time will tell. There was no announce date released, but here are a few things we do know: It's running Android OS 1.5, has a 5-megapixel camera with a flash, video recorder, will come with a 2GB microSD card, supports push to send so users can send photos, contacts, or date book events to other push-to-talk customers. One thing we can say about this smartphone: it really doesn't look all that rugged and that might be just the appeal. Watch the video below to check it out:
