Could you please comment on your recommendation of either the Bold or the E71x with regards to internet capabilities. They both use 3G and WiFi, but are there any significant user differences for checking email, browsing, etc?

Both devices are fantastic for Internet usage, as well as work email. The e71x is a very compact and powerful device. The Bold's strengths are it's terrific screen, keyboard feel, and powerful speakerphone. The E71x is also a terrific device, and has stronger battery life, as well as an extremely slim form factor.

That smartphone is only available in silver. However, if you want black you should check out iSkin. The company has a line of skins that would turn the silver Bold into a Black Bold.

The Bold is a true 3G smartphone and a little thicker than the Curve 8900. While the Curve 8900 has a 3.2-megapixel camera whereas the Bold has only a 2-megapixel camera. The Curve 8900 is also the slimmest BlackBerry to date.

Use the Desktop Manager. In the synchronize window, go into the configuration tab -> Config Sync. On the config window, select address book, hit the "Choose" button, and select ASCII Importer/Exporter as the application to sync to. Using this, you can only do an import or an export, but not a sync. Export your contacts into a CSV file, edit them as you wish, then import the csv file into the Blackberry desktop manager, and synchronize it with your Blackberry.

The Bold and the Impression are completely different devices. The Bold is meant to be used for corporate data services & email clients, whereas the Impression is meant to be used with personal data services & email. One of the advantages of the Impression is that you will only pay $15 per month for unlimited data, compared to the $30 you currently pay for the Bold.

Expert Reviews of BlackBerry® Bold™ (AT&T)
Expert Rating: 4.0
by Joni Blecher -- November 3rd 2008
The highly anticipated BlackBerry 9000 Bold has finally arrived and it just might have been worth the wait. The Bold sports all the favorite features wanted on a smartphone: WiFi, 3G data speeds for fast surfing while simultaneously conducting calls, stereo Bluetooth, multiple e-mail options and of course, the ability to view and edit word, excel and PowerPoint docs. But the real story here is that the Bold isnt just the workhorse productivity smartphone weve come to expect from BlackBerry; its also a solid multimedia cell phone with a snazzier interface to make it really pop.

I love the Bold and I have that for personal use. I really like the quality of the people that assist me with whatever problems that I have with my phone or my service. I do wish the phone was a little smaller but I didn't feel that way until I got my work cell which is a Blackberry Tour thru Verizon. Also, the battery life could be much longer. However,I feel the service all around is better and my devotion remains with AT&T. Thank you~ Melanie Loveland
