Social Media Intern

Internship Summary:

If you’re a whiz at social media and love interacting with others on Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, YouTube, forums, and blogs, this is a great opportunity to gain cutting-edge professional Web 2.0 experience..

The Social Media Intern position will provide a current or graduating student with valuable on-the-job skills, as well as materials they can show as “published.” LetsTalk.com will work with the University or college of the intern to provide the necessary paperwork for college credit..

We are looking for a dynamic self-starter with a passion for marketing, public relations and new media. The ideal candidate will have leadership experience and multi-tasking capabilities from academic and extra-curricular activities (clubs, associations, teams, etc.)

What Would You Be Doing?

  • Tweeting, facebooking, blogging, video blogging, googling, engaging our audience, ect.
  • Support LetsTalk’s presence across social networks (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc)
  • Assist with our social media strategy and execution
  • Craft and publish written blog posts, as well as short videos
  • Post photo or video updates using your mobile phone
  • Evaluate the impact of our online social media strategy 
  •  Follow Google Alerts of LetsTalk.com and help track “ social media ROI” (return on influence)
  • Update our weekly Facebook applications
  • Profile mobile phone companies, products, and other mobile blogs

Required Skills and Experience:

  • You are a Junior or Senior majoring in communications, media, journalism, marketing, PR, or a related field.
  • You love the internet and love engaging and interacting with people in social networks (Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, etc.).
  • You are a good writer.
  • You are interested in mobile products and technology.
  • You are intellectually curious and creative. 
  • You are able to meet deadlines.
  • You have a blog and are up to speed on how to social networks to promote your blog.
  • You have a positive attitude and are enthusiastic.
  • Knowledge of HTML a plus.
  • Knowledge of 3rd party Facebook applications (e.g.Wildfire) a plus.
  • You know how to edit videos.

We are looking for students that are currently studying in the following disciplines: Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering and Mathematics. There will be consideration for individuals with majors outside the above listed disciplines as long as there is a clear demonstration of experience and practical application of technologies.

Internship Highlights:

• Internship position is a paid position

• Position is located in North Richland Hills

• Intern works closely with IT professionals learning industry best practices, performing systems administration and supporting the user community

• An opportunity to gain real world experience including building professional skills, problem solving and relationship building

As Quality Assurance Engineer, you are a key player on the Development team. You will apply your broad knowledge of web technology, databases, and testing methodologies to expedite the fast delivery of reliable and robust functionality to our customers. Your efforts will ensure the seamless integration of new features into the existing system. We are looking for a motivated, hands-on individual who will proactively seek ways to improve the QA methodology and the development process.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Design, schedule, and execute test plans
  • Write comprehensive bug reports
  • Work with Engineering and Project Management to prioritize bugs and assist in the timely resolution of defects
  • Ensure proper functionality of code through configuration management and release cycle

Qualifications/Requirements

  • 1-3 years experience in a web or software development environment with at least 3 months QA experience
  • Excellent writing and speaking skills and ability to work with a diverse group of people
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with SQL databases and SQL queries
  • Ability to comprehend complex processes and procedures
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience with e-commerce systems, HTML, PHP, Java script, and other Web programming languages a plus.
  • BA/BS Computer Science or related degree is a plus.
